To ward off malevolent spirits, trolls and elves, the Vikings created The Trollkors, an amulet based on the Norse Rune, Odal. At Asgard Climbing, it's been my life's mission to improve climbers safety. Teaching skills and designing beautiful equipment to use in the mountains is how I achieve that. Hopefully, together we can keep those spirits away from you on your journey through the mountains.
We are passionate about the mountains.
Asgard Climbing is a multifaceted business. We teach and coach skills, design climbing hardware, run beautiful accommodation, Casa Alfredino. In addition we provide free useful information for climbing travellers visiting Val Pettorina.
Mike Kann
I've been visiting mountains around the world almost since I was born. My families chalet in the heart of the Ecrins national park in France of course led to a deep passion for steep places. Since those early forays around Pelvoux, climbing has taken me on many adventures, for example to the Alps, Jordan and North America. At 21 I went to the Dolomites for the first time and fell in love with the lush valleys and the huge rock walls which towered above them.
In the light of this passion, I decided to buy and renovate a house which became Casa Alfredino. Three self catering apartments coupled with it's position in the central Dolomites, makesĀ it's ideal for climbers and skiers. I've spent many days exploring nearby and beyond, feeling equal love for the amazing rock and ice climbing, the incredible skiing, eating great food and enjoying being immersed in a foreign culture.
Now it's finally time to pass the skills I've learnt along the way onto the next generation.
Mike is a full member of MTA, the Mountain Training Association and a trainee member of AMI.

I'm a fitness instructor with a particular passion for helping clients rediscover exercise, especially peri and post menopausal women. My personal training business www.so-fit.co.uk works in collaboration with Asgard Climbing to deliver fitness plans for outdoors people to help them achieve their dreams.
Although I don't climb, I love being in the mountains, scrambling, hiking, skiing, biking and going on Via Ferrata in the Dolomites.
